TRAVEL AGENCY FEES

Divergent Travel Trips receives commission from travel suppliers (hotels, tour operators, cruise lines, etc.) only after a trip has been completed.

We are not compensated for our time, expertise, planning, or recommendations if a trip is not booked.

Due to so many tire kickers who utilize our expertise, time, and then do not book anything with us, we now charge an up-front research fee for our services before starting a new trip request.

This fee includes personalized travel advice based on our expert professional knowledge. We invest time into researching, planning, choosing the right companies, and engaging our global travel network for each trip planned.

Below is a general outline of our fees.

UPFRONT RESEARCH FEES

Divergent Travel Trips charges upfront research fees for the following services:

  • New Trip Requests: To engage our services, we require payment of a $250 Trip Research Fee. This applies to solo, couple, or small family trips (needing 2 rooms or less).
  • Group Trip Requests: To plan your group trip, we require payment of a $500 Trip Research Fee. This applies to a group, wedding party, bachelor/bachelorette party, reunion, or larger family (needing 3 rooms or more).

OTHER FEES

Divergent Travel Trips charges fees for the following other services: 

  • Concierge Services: Including things like making spa, dining, and other reservations for special occasions or on request. Our fee is $50 per hour with a 1-hour minimum.
  • Flight Ticketing: Divergent Travel Trips will only book standalone commercial flights for established clients. Our fee for stand alone flight ticketing is $50/ticket. We do not book commercial flights for new clients when other trip elements are not involved.
  • Rush Requests: A rush fee of $250 per trip will apply in addition to our standard research fees for any trip request within eight weeks of departure.

NO FEE SERVICES

Divergent Travel Trips may waive research fees for the following situations:

  • Existing Clients: If we have a solid relationship and you have booked trips with us before, we may waive our research fee for non-complex trip planning.
  • Guided Tours/Cruises: If you know exactly which cruise or tour you want to book (including the dates, destination, and company) and you utilize us to book the trip, knowing that your choice supports our small business, we will waive our research fee.
